THE STORY BEHIND MY STUDIO
Hey! I am Iza Cook, the person behind Ornamental Studio. Basel is my home now, but originally I come from Poland, where I grew up in a small town with a great linen factory. With years of experience working in the creative field, I moved with my Scottish husband to Switzerland and needed to start again nearly from scratch.
Having previously worked in the Contemporary Art Centre in Warsaw, after landing in Switzerland I have decided to dive into visual communication study and learn design as a practitioner. While getting familiar with the german language and local art galleries (hey, we are spoiled here with art!) I made my second master’s in Visual Communication at the Academy of Design and Art in Basel (Hochschule für Gestaltung und Kunst).
I have been harbouring a strong passion to work independently, so when I became a mum I started my own studio to make keep a good balance between work and life.
